Proactive Pursuit: Jobs Ohio
Turning over a new leaf, our state’s economic development efforts have taken a more positive, proactive approach under the Kasich administration. The Dispatch reports our governor having called Sears CEO Louis D’Ambrosio to speak to him about Ohio’s approach to date, and how it was received by the giant retailer.
According to Kasich, the response was extremely positive, even praiseworthy:
“He said ‘the presentation that your folks have made for us has been stunning. They have been so good, and so creative, and so ahead of the curve that it’s down to three (states).’ ”
Though Ohio has a long way to go, and certainly manufacturing in the U.S. has taken a hit, the proactive, professional approach to economic development that JobsOhio has created is clearly making a difference.
